Actor Dictionary | Exhibitor

What you should know

An exhibitor another term for a movie theater. Generally speaking, movie theatres get 50% of the box office revenue. So when you read in the news that a movie grossed a certain amount in domestic box office, only half of that money actually goes to the distributor/studio. However, some times a distributor will strike a deal where they will get more than 50% for the couple weeks and then take less than 50 percent for the remaining weeks. In Hollywood, every deal is negotiable.
