''One day I'm going to stop talking says the brilliant Hayley Cartwright as Meg'', Reading Evening post. ''We had a fabulous guide (Hayley Cartwright) for both the backstage tour and the street tour. She is very knowledgeable and a lovely bubbly, outgoing person too. She's the sort of guide who makes the day memorable!'', Trip Advisor.Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers were little Hayley's (not that I have physically grown that much!) inspirations. At 5 I knew I wanted to act. Growing up in Preston, Lancashire, in a non thespian family, finding out how to begin my chosen path wasn't easy. At 6 I started training in Ballroom, Latin American and Old Time dance, and even competed in competitions. At 14 I came second in the North West. I always knew that I didn't want to be a professional dancer, however, and thankfully when I was 13, Preston Youth Theatre opened its doors! Here I trained until I was 19, and after attending college and gaining a distinction in Performing Arts, I won a scholarship to attend The Rep College. My drama school training consisted of playing various roles in rep in 14 shows per year. In my many years since then, I have enjoyed playing such diverse roles as Lesley in Talking Heads and Donna in Magic Hands, CBeebies (Broadcast Award nominees 2014)! I work regularly as a voice artist also, and I am the co-founder of the theatre company The Lipstick Thespians (www.thelipstickthespians.co.uk). Having lived in London and the South East for many years, at the end of 2013, I decided that it was time to move back to my roots in the North West. It was one of the best decisions I have made and I am now happily settled in Salford with my cat, Fluffy.
