At the age of four I made my stage debut as the Christmas Angel in my nursery school pageant and memorized everyone's lines, which I spoke from atop the creche. After that it was a regular gig atop my mother's kitchen table. I never looked back.
Cornelia Hart trained as an actress at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London under Hugh Cruttwell (Honours Diploma, Forbes Robertson Prize, Hardwicke Memorial Prize, Dame Flora Robson Prize), and has worked in regional theatre for more than 25 years. In the Washington DC area, she has appeared on the stages of Olney Theater Center, The Shakespeare Theater Company, Studio Theater, and the Kennedy Center. Under the direction of Michael Bloom, Ms. Hart created the role of Rita in Can't Complain, a 2015 world premiere play by Christine Evans, as part of the Washington DC Women's Voices Festival at Spooky Action Theater. Cornelia is currently appearing Mrs. Shubert in Shear Madness at the Kennedy Center. She resides near Washington DC with her husband, composer and pianist Alan Hart.
